The Guardians
Shona Nunan
The Guardians were created by former Victorian artist Shona Nunan, who is now based in Italy.
Standing 2.2 metres, the bronze figures are located on The Civic Green and stand guard at the entrance of the Warrnambool Art Gallery.
The duo began their vigil in November 2012 with their only reprieve during the annual Fun4Kids Festival in the winter school holidays when they are temporarily removed.
The artwork was made possible due to the generosity of Professor Barbara van Ernst.
