Mystery in the Trees - Bilby

Bilbies used to range right across the Australian outback, but loss of habitat and competition from introduced species have seen their distribution reduced to small areas in Western Australia, Queensland and the Northern Territory.

The gestation period of the bilby is only 145 days, which is one of the shortest in any mammal.
